Cicurel: The story behind one of the most haunted places in Egypt
The Murder
In March the 5th 1927 the Italian famous merchant and the owner of the Cicurel fashion brand (Solomon Cicurel) was brutally killed in his villa in Cairo / Egypt by four thieves after they drugged him and his wife , but because he tried to resist them , they stabbed him 11 times in front of his poor wife till he died .
When the murderers were caught , it turned out that two of them were Solomon's car driver and his wife's car driver as well and they were planning to steal her money and jewelry .
Later in February 1927 the court sentenced the criminals to death.
since then ,the villa was abandoned for a very long time and was known to be one of the most haunted places in Egypt.
Meeting the ghost
After 30 years of abandonment, the villa was finally sold to the "Abu Ouf family" it was a loving family of seven members, the mother, the father, their son (Ezzat) and their 4 daughters ( Maha) , (Mona) ( Manal) (Mervat) .
Everything was fine in the first few days , but then all of the sudden paranormal activities started happening in the villa, and it was usually just like the activities that happens in all the haunted places , such as knocking sounds in the middle of the night when everyone was sleeping, the piano playing by itself in the middle of the night, one of the girls claimed to feel someone breathing behind her everywhere she goes,

1- Ezzat fell asleep one day on his desk while studying in the same room where Solomon was killed and he woke up to find a tall black figure dressed in black and his eyes were popping out of his face looking at him, and that's when Ezzat almost died from fear and all of his hair went white since that day , and he told his sisters and they all believed him because they were experiencing paranormal experiences as well .
2- one of them was when Maha's best friend came for a sleepover, and at night she heard some knocks on the wall behind the bed when she asked Maha about it she told her that it was the ghost living with them in the house and it ended up with the girl running away from the house in the middle of the night in her pajamas.
3- The only family member who didn't believe there was such things as ghosts in the house was the father "Ahmed " because he was out of the house most of the time , but one day all family members decided to spend the summer holidays away on the beach, but only "Ahmed" decided to stay home alone and write a new piece of music , meanwhile in the middle of playing the Oud " middle eastern music instrument" he forgot the Notes so he decided to take a break and get a warm bath, while he was bathing he heard his piece playing on The oud by itself, and the next thing he did was running away in his shower rope.
The family members were very disturbed by what's happening to them because of the Ghost and they decided to get rid of him forever.
The Exorcism
Soon after what happened with the father he decided to bring a Rabbi ، a priest, and a sheikh to do and exorcism in the villa, but when they arrived and tried to connect with the ghost the sheikh told the father that it's a non harmful ghost and trying to kick him out of his own villa will cause them troubles as he will transform into an evil spirit, and they definitely didn't want that to happen .
A ghostly friendship
Ever since then the family spent 51 years living in the villa with their ghost friend happily ever after , and now the villa became the headquarters of the French embassy in Cairo.
But even after all these changes , the villa is still known to everyone as one of Egypt's most haunted places
